Eco-responsible – Colors, Materials & Finishes

SFIP – Société Française des Ingénieurs des Plastiques and SIA – Société des Ingénieurs de l’Automobile – have organised a new edition of Congress eco-responsible Colors Materials and Finishes 2023, in Troyes, on 4 & 5 October 2023.

Two days of exchanges, meetings, networking and conferences. A unique and unprecedented opportunity to meet colleagues, discuss common issues around eco-responsibility, discover new decors, new materials, new products and services.

A multi-material congress (films, textiles, polymers, wood, aluminium, carbon, stone, etc.) in the fields of mobility, cosmetics, luxury products, packaging, housing, sports and leisure, etc.

The CMF congress is a bisanual multi-material congress offering an overview of new trends in design and decoration and material innovations mainly in the automotive field while offering an opportunity to rethink our habits and processes.

This year the congress was organised in six main sessions.

Opening sessions of the 2 days will focus on the Trends and Expectations. On October 4th, you will discover presentations on Smart surfaces, Chrome surfaces and a session Around the Glazing while on October 5th, sessions will be focusing on Eco-Design and Finishing.

These 18 high level lectures were welcome with great entusiasm by our 200 participants.

Special keynote addresses from OEMs and a lecture from the C2RMF (Research and Restoration Center of the Museums of France) have punctuate the 2-days congress. All breaks were taken in the luminous exhibition hall offering the attendees and our 14 exhibitors a place to exchange in a friendly atmosphere – a real trademark of all our SFIP-SIA events!

On October 4th, the SFIP Student Price was awarded to Viviane Tran from Sorbonne University for her work on the development of vitrimers by reactive extrusion to reach homogeneous mechanical properties in 3d printing.

Since 2013, this congress has been held in Eastern France, Mulhouse, Strasbourg, Nancy and this year Troyes at the Centre des Congrès with a visit of the “Cité du Vitrail” and one of the city followed by a Cocktail in the exhibition area and finally a Gala dinner organized at the City Hall.

Besides, for this edition we’ve acted to have a 100% English-spoken congress in order to fully embrace the international dimension of CMF experts.
